A well-maintained hearing aid can easily last 5 years or more. Most of the repairs we see at our service counter are caused by moisture, earwax build-up and poor battery handling — all of which are preventable with a short daily routine.

1. Wipe Down Every Night

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe your device clean each night before storing it. Never use water, alcohol, or cleaning solvents directly on the device.

2. Keep It Dry

Moisture is the number one cause of hearing aid failure. Remove your device before showering, swimming, or applying hairspray and perfume. In humid climates like Delhi's monsoon season, a dehumidifying dry box overnight makes a big difference.

3. Clean the Wax Guard Regularly

Earwax build-up on the receiver or wax guard is the most common reason for reduced or muffled sound. Replace wax guards every 2–4 weeks, or sooner if you notice sound becoming faint.

4. Handle Batteries Correctly

For devices with disposable batteries, open the battery door at night to let trapped moisture evaporate and to extend battery life. For rechargeable models, charge fully each night and avoid letting the battery drain completely on a regular basis.

5. Store Safely

Keep your hearing aids in their case when not in use, away from pets, children, and direct sunlight.

6. Schedule Professional Cleanings

Bring your devices in every 3–4 months for a professional deep clean and function check. We do this free of charge for all our customers.
